We’ll teach you the correct methods and give you tips on installing bird and bat houses. Bluebirds, who’s numbers were in a spiraling decline, are on a rebound and you can help by creating a bluebird habitat trail with the plan found here. This will have your flying friends moving in quickly.

Instead welcome bats as your friends against pesky insects like mosquitoes and marvel at their nighttime acrobatics. You can attract them by putting up bat houses. Want a squirrel proof feeder? So do we, we’re not quite there yet, but we have identified a way to lessen their raids and wasting of seed. How you ask? Here's a tip, build them feeders of their own. When stocked with their favorites and located properly, the birds will soon be dining alone. See the below picture of our squirrel feederto get an idea on how to accomplish this, and look for plans to be added soon.
Would you like to encourage woodpeckers to visit? Then definitely check out our suet feeder, a sure fire draw. If you are handy in the wood shop copying our design, pictured below, will be no problem. If you’re not, don’t worry, soon we will have a set of plans available here. There are many inexpensive models available at discount and dollars stores to hold you over until then.
Other Projects & Plans
Vineyards and orchards can be a welcome additions to any landscape by humans and animals alike. After all there are few who don’t like fresh grapes, apples, peaches, pears, plums and the like or the jellies and jams and other desserts made from them.
Many people have the misconception they must have a lot of space to grow fruit trees and vines. Not so, we will point you in the right direction, from plans using dwarf species, to training methods and container grown patio specimens. We’ll advise you how to get the most out of your investment in planting an orchard.
If done correctly, your vineyard and orchards will provide you healthy treats for years to come, with plenty to share with the birds and other wildlife. You can see how our vineyard was started in the below picture. We took advantage of the sunny location provided by our power line easement.
Science Fair Projects
Need a science fair project, see our plans for building a worm bed or making a flower press. After the flower press science project is complete, we will provide the kids some ideas for easy crafts and other suggestions for using the pressed plants.

Also included is a simple recipe for making earth friendly Christmas ornaments, that can be kept as heirlooms or used as mini feeders for the birds after the holiday. This is an easy craft for the kids. There's also tips on other projects and crafts using this recipe for after Christmas activities. We’ll also share our plan on how to use that spent Christmas tree for wildlife by having a Christmas for the birds (other wildlife too).

Ok, so like us, you anxiously wait to seer deer, rabbits and other wildlife grazing about your yard. Not so fast,, they’ll eat you out house and home if not careful. See our tips on avoiding deer favorites, delicacies, that in the wrong location will disappear over night.
In some cases interplanting the right combinations discourages foraging. Also, see our tips on using plants we have found to be somewhat deer resistant. However, remember, if hungry enough, they’ll eat anything.
