Love wildlife? Then you have come to the right place. Our primary passion is maintaining, preserving and enhancing the diverse animal and plant habitat we have through successfully applied gardening and landscaping methods. It is our hope and intent to inspire and assist others in planning their landscape with a new vision towards wildlife conservation and preservation.
Through trial and error, we continue to identify what works best in our southern locale, meets our conservation and preservation goals and remains the most cost effective approach to the above stated objectives. Our website's overall intent is to share all we know and have learned in a way that educates and encourages others to seek their own wilderness adventure through the establishment of a wildlife backyard habitat.

Our site offers detailed landscaping recommendations for attracting birds, butterflies and others, such as whitetail deer and foxes. Our Landscapes tab provides a wealth of quality information on providing the critical habitat elements of food, shelter and water required to attract and maintain healthy native animal populations.
Here you will learn how to create bird and critter friendly environments, through proper utilization of natural vegetation and adding supplemental sources, protecting and establishing wetlands, as well as the many benefits derived from hardscapes.

You will also find a Plans and Tips section to enhance the overall process with project plans, tips and how to instructions. Some examples are establishing a Bluebird Habitat Trail, making homemade hummingbird nectar and constructing rock walls.
It is in this section you will also find gardening and landscaping tips that benefit animals and homeowners in concert, such as installing a vineyard and fruit tree orchards as well as a list of plants we have found to be somewhat deer resistant. After all, you don't necessarily want them eating everything in your landscape.
Ultimately, success in attracting and maintaining wildlife will depend largely on proper land management and strategies. Our site provides you the necessary tools and information to accomplish this goal.
Every parcel of property is unique, whether a quarter acre or a hundred acres, yet any sized area can be tamed for wildlife and aesthetic gratification as it applies to the landowner. The greatest trick, in our opinion, is not creating a beautiful landscape with a clean canvas but enhancing the overall advantages to man, plant, and beast by working with the structure and bones of a property's indigenous state. This approach is true conservation at its best.
Coming soon will be a section dedicated to the joy and benefits of specific gardens, such as butterfly gardens, wildflower meadows, childrens garden, healing garden and bog garden.

Read and learn more about these wonderful creatures and their habitats, including how you can aid in ensuring their presence for future generations to enjoy in the Ga.'s Wildlife section.
You undoubtedly will find many of these same animal species or indirect relatives (cousins, if you will) recognizable and desired as residents of your region. We will also address game species, special interest relevant to them and how hunting impacts conservation efforts.

Children love animals. That's why we also have included a special section just for them, Kids for Wildlife. Here kids of all ages will find wildlife focused activities, easy crafts and science fair projects. Getting children excited about nature is critical to the future of the conservation movement.
Many children today have not experienced the thrill of seeing animals in their natural habitat firsthand. For this reason, among others, we also have coming soon a special section called Viewing Wildlife,, where kids can find photographs of birds, assorted prints, other critter pictures and posters of their soon to be favorites.
For the adults and kids, we will also include information here on the fascinating hobby of bird watching, which can be enjoyed from most anywhere in the world.
